Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2023! So many exciting opportunities arise at the turn of the year! Not really, but for some of us it gives a new sense of motivation and hope.

So before we get into 2023, let’s review - how did 2022 go for me?

Let’s start with the bad!

  • I lost touch with some of my friends over the years, and hope to rectify that in 2023.

  • I did not focus on being as physically active as I would have liked, mainly due to personal health reasons that landed me in the the ER late 2021 and some of the light PTSD associated with it.

The good?

  • I got a new job where I can truly feel myself excelling and gaining valuable skills

  • I was able to travel domestically quite a bit - San Diego, CA; Orlando, FL and surrounding areas; Boston, MA; and all over North Carolina.

  • I got to focus on some of my hobbies like website design, photo restoration, photo editing, and music making.

  • I was able to hone some of my mentoring skills by offering both personal and professional coaching to 3+ people who reached out to me on LinkedIn. I was also able to speak to two separate classrooms (6th grade and 4th grade) to chat about being a scientist and how to achieve your goals. (Thanks, Skype A Scientist!)

And the weird!??

So I have what I like to call a “basket list”. It’s like a bucket list but less serious and less morbid. I completed a few of my basket list items this year, which I’ve listed below:

  • Chop wood (Like, a lot of wood. Mostly for fun, some for burning)

  • Oatmilk in my oatmeal (Ouroboros)

  • Go to a batting cage

  • Bite into a honey comb

Cheers to the New Year!
