Goodbye my friend

I always wanted a dog. I begged and pleaded to no avail, so naturally, when my family got a puppy after I had moved out and away I was mad. I didn’t stay mad long because how could I?

We named him Zayn, meaning beauty and grace (masculine) in Arabic.

He was cute, though anything but graceful. Potty training was disastrous and he’d often run away to nearby groups of people to say hi when we went for walks or stepped outside.

He had so much love to share with everyone.

Over the next decade we grew to know each other. We played, we cuddled, we sat quietly together, and we wrestled in the backyard. He loved more than anything to play fetch. He’d bark at you if you weren’t quick enough to throw the toy back out again. He even won over my mom, who to this day swears she doesn’t like dogs.

He lived a good life though it was taken abruptly from him. He will be missed dearly by all that knew him.
